Uma Shungo is a midwifery run family resource center located outside of Tumbaco, Ecuador. The center weaves together modern medicine and ancient midwifery traditions. ?Uma Shungo? is a common kichwa phrase that means mind & heart connection.


Uma Shungo offers free or low-cost education classes for nutrition, childbirth, education, yoga, sex education and lactation support. They also offer midwifery care for pregnancy, birth, postpartum and reproduction care.
