This year we celebrate the 6th anniversary of Strong Like Jean - the workout designed and done in honor of our friend, Jean Perry. Jean loved her friends, family, food, animals, music, and our CrossFit community. We got to witness Jean lift heavy, do her first box jumps, and love a good hero WOD before her breast cancer returned and metastasized in 2020. What started as a visit to the doctor for some hip pain led to her discovering her cancer not only returned, but spread through her bones, liver, and other organs. 

I had the honor to drive Jean to treatments, and visit with her a few times a day to walk her beloved dog, Hagrid. After some of her more complex treatments and infections, she threw a will-signing party, made cocktails and got dressed up for her closest family and friends, and we threw together "Strong Like Jean", a workout for her to do with us together safely outdoors. A little over two months later, Jean passed away in June 2021, and we continue this workout and fundraising in her honor to find a cure for the disease that took her from us. 

Giving in honor of Jean is a gift to a future without breast cancer. Thank you for your continued support and I know we can reach this big goal!
