Be part of a historical land back movement yak tityu tityu yak ti?hini (ytt) Northern Chumash Tribe are the first people of San Luis Obispo County. After forcible removal three centuries ago, ytt has the opportunity to reinvigorate traditional foodways and practices. This 350 acre property along the coast, known locally as the Cayucos Abalone Farm, is under contract with ytt Northern Chumash Nonprofit with a closing scheduled for October 2026. ytt is launching a campaign to purchase this land and revitalize the vibrant native ecosystems, from ocean to land.
The ytt Northern Chumash Nonprofit is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that serves as the fiscal and administrative entity for yak tit?u tit?u yak ti?hini Northern Chumash Tribe. Established in 2010, ytt Northern Chumash Nonprofit works to support, promote, and advocate for yak tit?u tit?u yak ti?hini Northern Chumash Tribe. In unison with the Tribal Council, the ytt Northern Chumash Nonprofit supports the preservation of our traditional lifeways; protection of our natural environment; regaining ancestral homelands; and the creation of economic opportunities to improve the quality of life for yak tit?u tit?u yak ti?hini Northern Chumash people.
