The Wild is Calling... Wolves play a crucial role in their ecosystems. Why? Because wolves are "keystone species", which means without them, nature's balance cannot be maintained. In order to have healthy vegetation and prey populations, wolves are an essential piece of an ecosystem's complex puzzle.
At the Endangered Wolf Center, we heard the call of the wild in 1971 and for over 50 years, have played a role in breeding and reintroducing Mexican wolves into the wild.
One way we do that is by using a conservation method called cross-fostering. Learn all about that process (and see some cute wolf pups!) in the video below.
