ABOUT VIEQUES HUMANE SOCIETY and Animal Rescue (VHS)

VHS is the island?s only open-admission shelter & low-cost veterinary clinic with regular service hours. It has served as an essential 501(c)3 animal welfare resource for 30+ years. Our mission is to alleviate the suffering of homeless, neglected & abused animals living on the small, under-served Puerto Rican island of Vieques by:

• Offering temporary shelter & veterinary care to homeless dogs and cats
• Maintaining a low-cost community veterinary clinic
• Re-homing adoptable animals through an active transport program
• Controlling & maintaining the health of the island?s dog & cat populations through spay-neuter-vaccinate programs
