Life with MCT8-AHDS is so much more than what?s visible from the outside looking in.

It?s filled with joy, laughter, hope, love, and all the wonderfully ordinary moments that make our kids who they are. They love their favorite shows and watching sports. They play with siblings, create mischief, laugh until they can?t stop, and bring so much happiness to the people around them. They have big personalities, unique interests, hopes, and dreams. They are so much more than their disability.

But there is so much that isn?t visible, too.

Behind the smiles are fear, sadness, grief, uncertainty, and challenges most people never see. As parents, we?ve developed a kind of superhuman strength?not because we asked for it, but because our kids need us to keep going. And we?ve gotten very good at making the hard parts look easy.

This World MCT8-AHDS Day, our theme is More Thank You See. We want you to look beyond what?s visible. See our kids for all that they are. See the joy alongside the hardship, the ordinary alongside the extraordinary, and the hopes and dreams alongside the grief.
