I lost my very best friend to an aggressive, heart-based cancer in June of 2015, and my life has forever been changed. My very best friend just happens to be my dog, Potter. He was there for me throughout the end of my veterinary school education and for the first 8 years in private practice. He was my constant, and he meant the world to me. I was devastated when I lost him, just as many people are when they lose someone so important to them. Out of that grief, I created Paws4Potter in hopes that I could help raise awareness for canine (and all pet) cancer so that fewer families would have to go through what I went through. I found solace in the members and leaders of the National Canine Cancer Foundation, and most of our fundraising dollars go directly to them for future research, outreach, and education.
Since 2016, Paws4Potter has been hosting an annual dog walk called "Making A Mark On K9 Cancer" in Watertown, NY. This year, Paws4Potter has decided to create a hybrid event . . . a combination of an in-person dog walk AND a VIRTUAL dog walk! This t-shirt fundraiser replaces our in-person event t-shirt sale! This unique t-shirt cannot be found anywhere else, and the art has not been used on any Paws4Potter clothing before!
The majority of the money raised from the dog walk event and from the t-shirt sale will be redirected to the National Canine Cancer Foundation, and a small portion will remain within Paws4Potter to help fund future educational events and to help create future educational materials for the general public.
