All proceeds go to support the Argonne Elementary School PTO. Argonne is a unique, extended year public school educating kindergarten through 5th grade students since 1920.
The Muese-Argonne offensive was fought in the forest of Argonne in northeastern France during WWI. Argonne Elementary School was the first to be built in San Francisco after the Armistice was signed, and a Gold Star mother who?s son, Corporal Frank, died in and was originally buried in the forest of Argonne, was present at the school?s dedication on February 22, 1920. A plaque on the front of the school read: ?Argonne School ? Erected A.D. 1919. Named by San Francisco in honor of her sons for their patriotic devotion their loyal services and their noble sacrifices on the battlefield of France and Belgium, 1918.?
