Kesem is a nationwide community, driven by passionate college student leaders, that supports children through and beyond their parent's cancer. Our flagship program, Camp Kesem, is a week-long overnight summer camp designed specifically for children ages 6 to 18 impacted by a parent's cancer and made available to the community at no cost.
Kesem at WashU was founded in 2017 and is one of 3 chapters in Missouri that supports this population of youth. This year, Kesem at WashU has a goal of serving 42 children, ages 6-18, affected by a parent?s cancer at camp. Camp Kesem provides children affected by a parent?s cancer with a supportive, lifelong community that recognizes and understands their unique needs while also empowering college students to make a difference and build invaluable leadership skills as they develop and manage all aspects of executing the camp programming.
