Krew Wicks was born in July 2018 with an extremely rare genetic disorder called Osteogenisis Imperfecta, or Brittle Bones. He was born with multiple fractures throughout his body. Krew's bones are so fragile that they can break with little or no trauma at all. Despite the everyday challenges Krew faces, he is happy as can be.
This has us traveling to Omaha, Nebraska at least once per year to see the top OI doctors in the country. We want the very best care for him! Unfortunately we have to pay out of pocket for the travel expenses, and they add up quickly.
**Update
Krew's orthopedic surgeon moved to the Phoenix Children's hospital and we are transferring care. We plan to travel to Phoenix at least once per year for clinics and/or surgery. Krew's scoliosis has increased over the past couple of years and we are hopeful that he will be a candidate for a cutting edge magnetic back rodding surgery that will have us traveling to Delaware. We want the very best care for our very best boy!
