This is a fundraiser to cover the veterinary costs for Brisa. Brisa was born on 12/3/19. At 6 weeks old we found she had a drug resistant form of hookworms. She was treated several times, and at 9 1/2 weeks old she developed a severely prolapsed rectum. She had surgery to repair inguinal and umbilical hernias, and her rectum continued to prolapse, so she was transferred to an Emergency hospital. She stayed in the Emergency Hospital for a week. During this time, she had surgery to repair her colon, a colopexy, in which her colon was sutured to her abdominal wall to prevent it from slipping back out. She came home and healed. Fast forward two months and she started having diarrhea issues once again. She was tested for Addison?s Disease. She was not positive but they continued to monitor her in case it developed.
About 6 weeks ago, she had her first Addisonian episode and then was considered a full blown Addisonian dog. Last weekend, she went into shock, had an Addisonian crisis, was readmitted to the ER and her kidneys began failing.
She spent 4 days there and made a complete turnaround. Our girls are strong, they are brave and they need your support.
She fights, we fight.
