It's become a well-known fact over the years - pigs LOVE pumpkins! We're lucky enough to have so many donated pumpkins from around Austin during the fall as people collect & bring them out to us, rather than just throwing them away!
Why do they love pumpkins? They're tasty, fresh, crunchy, and nutritious. Pigs have a special gift for knowing what foods are good for them. Pumpkin seeds even act as a natural dewormer! They'll eat all parts, and especially love the stringy insides!
This year, we're excited to see the joy of pumpkin season when Poppy & Willow enjoy their first pumpkins! Saved from a testing lab, we've loved witnessing all of their 'firsts' as they enthusiastically experience the simple joys of life.
