Peanut found her forever home with Army Lieutenant Colonel Michelle Parlette and became her loyal companion through the moves, deployments, and unexpected changes of military life. After the Hero Pet Boarding Network connected Peanut with a volunteer boarder during one of Michelle?s military commitments, their experience became a powerful way to show other service members that support was available when duty called. As the 2018 American Hero Pet of the Year and Dogs on Deployment mascot, Peanut took that message across Europe, becoming a tiny but mighty global ambassador for military families and their pets.

We?re bringing Dogs on Deployment?s past mascot shirts back from the archives as we prepare to search for the 2027 American Hero Pet of the Year and Dogs on Deployment?s 15th Mascot.
Each mascot represents a chapter in Dogs on Deployment?s history and the military families and pets at the heart of our mission. This limited collection gives our community a chance to revisit those stories, celebrate the mascots who represented us through the years, and support the work that continues today.
Past mascot designs will return to the archives when the 2027 American Hero Pet of the Year is announced on January 1st, 2027.
