Kali came into retired Army First Sergeant Elizabeth Cornejo?s life during one of her most difficult chapters, helping her rediscover purpose, activity, and joy after a stroke and challenging transition in her military career. Years later, when Elizabeth deployed to Kuwait, Dogs on Deployment?s Hero Pet Boarding Network helped keep Kali and her companion, Kaos, safely cared for until her return. Named the 2020 American Hero Pet of the Year and Dogs on Deployment mascot, Kali became a powerful ambassador for rescue, healing, second chances, and the extraordinary bond between service members and their pets.

We?re bringing Dogs on Deployment?s past mascot shirts back from the archives as we prepare to search for the 2027 American Hero Pet of the Year and Dogs on Deployment?s 15th Mascot.
Each mascot represents a chapter in Dogs on Deployment?s history and the military families and pets at the heart of our mission. This limited collection gives our community a chance to revisit those stories, celebrate the mascots who represented us through the years, and support the work that continues today.
Past mascot designs will return to the archives when the 2027 American Hero Pet of the Year is announced on January 1st, 2027.
