The personalization project sends personalized, affirming mugs to folks who have had name changes, free of charge. This shirt/hoodie sends us $10 towards materials. Our other shirts also help fund the project ($2-5/shirt), but this shirt donates a bit more.

Between clay, glaze, firing costs, and shipping, every mug sent out costs about $20-$25. (Approx $10 shipping and $10-15 in firing costs and materials.) Your donation goes directly to these expenses.

This project began when I stamped a name into a mug for someone who had a name change. In that moment, I knew I needed to reproduce that feeling for others. I had been working on a 100 mug project, and every 10 mugs had a uniform style/size. I went rouge one weekend and made 10 mismatched mugs, and asked for volunteers to receive a free mug while I practiced.

After I shipped those 10 out, I put out a request for 10 more, and here we are!

There is often a big pay disparity between trans and cis folks. It can be difficult to gain employment, and many times, we are passed over for leadership/promotion opportunities. I have experienced this first hand, despite being a hard worker. Of course, this is not true for all trans folks, but I wanted to make sure money wasn?t the deciding factor for anyone who wanted one.

I want folks to have the experience of an affirming comfort item, like a mug, and not have it drastically impact their disposable income (if they have any). Many of you have reached out to share your stories and how deeply connected you are to this project. Thank you for fueling my passion even further.
