Celebrate compassion featuring Strawberry the turkey!

Strawberry was rescued from a "homestead gone wrong" situation where her future was uncertain. From the start, it was clear she was special! She was curious, gentle, and full of life. She quickly became known for following visitors around, hoping for affection and attention, her calls being heard from across the sanctuary.

Strawberry has faced her share of challenges. She?s dealt with long-term health issues common in domestically bred turkeys, including mobility struggles and recurring infections that require ongoing care. Yet despite it all, she continues to greet each day with grace and curiosity ? a true picture of resilience.

Every November, she?s celebrated at our ThanksLIVING event ? not as a meal, but as a survivor and friend. Strawberry reminds everyone she meets that turkeys are sensitive, intelligent beings who deserve love and compassion just like any other animal.
