Roe v. Wade never provided our communities the abortion access we needed, but it did represent the hard-won legal right to not only abortion, but privacy. Roe v. Wade was a tool in our toolbox as activists, organizers, and direct care providers. Roe was something lawyers, providers, and everyday people could point to as evidence of our constitutional rights; in the United States, we could argue on behalf of the care we need and the privacy we deserve. But on June 24, 2022, the Supreme Court overturned that right. After Dobbs, zombie laws from before 1973 (Nevada has multiple of these on the books) came back to life, and further criminalized and endangered abortion seekers and providers. Sadly, these attacks on abortion still persist?four years later.
This design was first released by WWAF in the immediate aftermath of Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health. Today, we're bringing it back to remind our community: No matter what, we're getting people abortions in Nevada.
