Familiar Hearts Animal Society formed in 2021 in response to the crushing crisis in animal rescue. Every day countless pets are found abandoned in our city: tied to trees in the park, banisters of churches, let loose to the whims of the world when there are move outs or inconveniences. Our city?s only open intake shelter is overwhelmed daily with animals brought in as strays or surrenders due to medical bills or evictions.

Familiar Hearts aims to end the unnecessary suffering of homeless companion animals by serving as a refuge and enabling humans to provide them quality and compassionate homes. The need is great but the power of many hearts is greater!
