FBBO banded its first bird on March 22, 1998 and is now in our 25th year of banding migratory birds.

Since 1998 the Foreman's Branch Bird Observatory's has been monitoring avian migration through bird banding.

Our work is completely funded through private donations and small grants. Proceeds from the sale of these shirts will help us buy mist nets, pay Washington College interns, cover utility and maintenance costs at our banding lab and allow us to continue to mentor our next generation of field biologists.


Thanks to FBBO volunteer and Washington College graduate, Nina Black. for designing this logo celebrating our 25th year. The bird is a male Baltimore Oriole (also the state bird of Maryland).
