Soft Animal was founded in the fall of 2021 by Charity Painter and Chloe Morrison out of a growing concern over the lack of safer spaces for LGBTQIA+ people. We formed a team of trusted queers, and put on our first event which was a local poetry and hip hop showcase hosted by Hormona Lisa! From there we've done drag shows, camping and other outdoor events, concerts, potlucks, movie nights and more. We've always been self-funded from our events, donations or small grants and have never done a fundraiser - until now!

Soft Animal recently became a 501c3 and have fine-tuned our mission to curate four large quarterly events or projects per year. This year we're planning a pool party, music festival and lots of other fun stuff that's secret for now! To fund those events, we've decided to do our first ever fundraiser featuring our logo, hand-drawn by a formerly local tattoo artist Sara Tolbert.
