As we plan our 2nd annual dinner, ?Celebrating Our Legacy: Outdoor Adventurers Since 1912,? we recognize the Girl Scout pioneers who helped to build a movement that still brings us together.
We hope you can join us that weekend to help us get started on our next fundraising project. We have decided to take on some big ideas to help get more Girl Scouts using Rock Hill Camp year round! Our plan is as follows:
1. The Friends of Rock Hill would like to focus on replacing the bunk beds in all three cabins at a cost of approximately $35,000. These bunks have served us well, but it is time they retire. Since the cabins are winterized, adding to the cabin improvements will continue to provide access for year round usage, especially in the winter.
2. Another area of need is to fund improvements at all of the kitchen shelters throughout the camp by improving the food storage cabinets and giving everything a glow up with a new coat of paint. We believe that continuing the improvements in the tent units will encourage more usage into the colder months.
3. The final goal is to see some of the other buildings in the camp winterized such as Walden and the bath houses. This will allow even more year round access to camp facilities and provide more opportunities for cold weather outdoor experiences at Rock Hill Camp.
To start this project, we are setting a goal to raise $50,000 over the next two years. We believe we can do it with your help!
Buy a t-shirt or sweatshirt today to support our fundraising efforts. It will be a great item to wear to the fundraiser or to show your support if you are unable to attend!
