On March 5, 2026, Gretchen suffered a catastrophic ruptured brain aneurysm and hemorrhagic stroke, resulting in paralysis on the right side of her body. She underwent brain surgery at Aurora Medical Center in Green Bay and spent months hospitalized and recovering, including intensive physical, occupational, and speech therapy. She later transitioned to a nursing facility for continued rehabilitation.

Gretchen is now home, but her recovery continues. Bringing her home required significant expenses to create a safe and accessible environment, including a medical bed, durable medical equipment, and necessary home modifications. These needs, combined with ongoing medical and rehabilitation expenses, have placed a substantial financial burden on Gretchen and her family.

To help ease that burden, Time Out Sports Bar & Grill in Manitowoc is hosting a fundraiser for the Gretchen Anderson Medical Fund on Saturday, November 7, 2026, 1 PM - 6 PM.
