As Valentine's Day approaches and the stores fill up with heart-shaped boxes of chocolate, teddy bears and flowers, we take a moment to focus on the acts of love that keep our community safe year-round.
At Four A's, we know that Harm Reduction is an act of love.
Harm Reduction is a science-backed model that aims to meet people who use drugs where they are at and provide the resources they need to reduce the harms associated with their substance use. This includes access to free sterile syringes, a safe way to dispose of used syringes, and life-saving overdose prevention through Naloxone.
Harm Reduction acknowledges the structural inequalities people face such as racism, classism, poverty, and homophobia. With this understanding, Harm Reduction promotes the health and dignity of people who use drugs and empowers them to be the agent of change in their own lives. This is an act of love.
When you buy from this campaign, not only are the proceeds channeled back into Four A's Harm Reduction/HIV Prevention services, but you are showing those around you that you support the health of all people within our community.
