I AM JANE DOE.
These words have become a statement of solidarity.
In response to the Cornell University Jane Doe case and the movement of women standing together to protect the survivor?s identity, this shirt represents something bigger than one person.
It says: We believe survivors deserve to be heard. We believe they deserve privacy. And we refuse to let them stand alone.
Proceeds from the sale of this shirt support On The Wings of Angels, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering and providing tangible support to survivors of domestic violence and their children.
This is not a fundraiser for Cornell?s Jane Doe.
It is a way to turn a moment of solidarity into direct support for survivors who need help.
I am Jane Doe.
You are Jane Doe.
We stand with Jane Doe.
Wear it for the survivors who have spoken.
Wear it for the ones who haven?t.
Wear it so they know they are not alone.
WHY BLACK SHIRTS?
Black was intentional.
We wear black in mourning for the women who feel their rights, safety and autonomy are increasingly under threat.
We wear black for the women who did not survive the violence against them.
But this isn't only about mourning.
Black also unites us.
We stand together in solidarity with survivors, with Jane Doe, and with every woman who has ever felt silenced, dismissed or afraid to speak.
Different women. Different stories. One color. One message.
I AM JANE DOE.
