We've been researching hummingbirds since 2012 near Idaho City. Every summer we place tiny bands on 400+ hummingbirds to study their population trends, migratory habits, productivity, and survivorship. Populations of Rufous and Calliope Hummingbirds are currently declining due to habitat loss and other related threats. Our data is part of a larger program across western Canada, the US, and Mexico aimed at being on the forefront of hummingbird conservation. Help us continue our good work to protect these tiny, flying gems!
