About this campaign
As most of you now know, my beautiful cousin Tammie was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She is now preparing for a double mastectomy with treatment to follow which will require her to take some time off work to heal and recover. We would love to support them in any way we can to relieve any financial stress so they can focus on her complete healing. All donations and prayers are greatly appreciated!
Here is her story:
A post I?ve been dreading and a club I never wanted to join: February 24th I was diagnosed with stage 1 invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancer.. the team of doctors I have are wonderful and extremely optimistic, the first thing they said was this is curable and we are going to get it taken care of. The last 3-4 weeks have been a blur of biopsies, tests, appointments and results. A plus genetics determined it was not hereditary based off the 83 tested markers. I?m scared, nervous, anxious etc.. Wednesday 3/18 I will be having a double mastectomy, then reconstruction with chemo and radiation pending surgery findings. I will be out of work for minimum 4-6 weeks, which is going to be a hard pill for me to swallow. But I am grateful for the community team working on my care and treatment, my family/friends who have supported and connected me to get great care, and my work family for carrying the team. They have really been outstanding. I?m asking for prayers for the hands and skill of the medical team, a successful surgery and that my body will recover well. As well as for my husband and family as we navigate this intensive procedure and stressful time. Kevin is my rock and has been my calm through all of this. He is the biggest blessing and I am thankful God gave me him to get through this. I?d also ask for prayers for my work family and my other ?kids? who will be navigating this and FFA world one man down for a while (and for Steve who graciously is stepping in to help)
PS to all my ladies do your self checks, that was how I found it and thankfully got the ball rolling quickly and caught it early enough.
