Meet Jerry, a little pug with a very big personality and absolutely no idea that he is different from any other puppy.
Jerry was born with severe spinal deformities that have left him partially paralyzed and incontinent. His back legs may not work the way they should, but Jerry has never gotten that memo. He plays, explores, chases his ball, keeps up with the other dogs the best way he knows how, and approaches every day with a level of happiness and determination that is impossible not to love.
After extensive testing and evaluation, including a consultation, MRI and CT scan with the specialists at the University of Florida, we are now working toward a complex surgical plan designed to give Jerry the best chance at improved mobility and a better future. His medical bills have already exceeded $6,000, and his surgery alone is expected to cost approximately $12,000.
We know surgery will not make Jerry ?perfect.? That was never the goal.
The goal is to give this happy, determined little pug every opportunity possible to keep doing what he loves, to move more freely, to play, and maybe one day experience the zoomies he has been trying so hard to have all along.
That is what inspired this shirt: LIVE LIKE JERRY. Forget perfect. Choose happy.
Because Jerry reminds us that a good life does not have to look perfect. Sometimes you make your own way, find your own happy, and keep going anyway.
