This October, For Every Orphan celebrates eighteen years of standing in the gap for children and families at risk of separation, including foster and adoptive families.
It all took root through one woman?s love for the Lord and her heart for vulnerable children. Our founding executive director, Micala Siler, sought after God?s heart for children and lived out that calling through three simple words: pray, act, inspire. She understood that families rarely fall apart because parents stop loving their children ? they?re pulled apart under the weight of poverty and crisis: a leaking roof, an unpaid school fee, a lost harvest, an empty pantry. Micala believed that coming alongside families in those moments could change the course of a child?s life, because children are meant to grow up in families, how God designed it.
This October, we invite you to carry this legacy of love and call to care for the fatherless and oppressed forward with us.
