Millie Littlejohn is the 11-month-old daughter of Luke and Bailey Littlejohn. In January of this year, when she was just 10 weeks old, Millie had to be hospitalized at Le Bonheur due to failure to thrive and chronic GI issues. Since then, she has been diagnosed with a rare, genetic disorder (Congenital Sucrase Isomaltase Deficiency), Cow?s Milk Protein Allergy, and several other conditions.
Millie only spent four months out of the hospital before having to return in July with ongoing chronic GI issues and recurring intermittent intussusception. She has been hospitalized off and on since July and has undergone multiple tests, surgeries, central lines, and feeding trials.
Currently, Millie remains at Le Bonheur while awaiting the next steps from CHOP (Children?s Hospital of Philadelphia). Her GI team is working directly with them to determine the best treatment options, as she is a very complex case and shows little signs of improvement.
Her dad, Luke Littlejohn, is the sole income earner for their family of four during this time. Her mother, Bailey, was laid off in February due to a company-wide layoff at her bank. This medical journey has been extremely stressful for the family, not only financially but also emotionally, as they are separated?Bailey stays at the hospital with Millie, Luke works, and Bailey?s mom cares for Liam. They just want answers for their daughter, for her to be completely healed, and to be reunited at home again.
