When we moved Happy Compromise Farm + Sanctuary from Oregon to Upstate New York just a few short months ago, we were given the opportunity to take in the one remaining cow on the new property, which had previously been a meat CSA. Of course we said yes. Miriam had seen all of her friends and family sent to slaughter, but no one was able to catch her - she was too fast and too feral. She saved her own life. She is Miriam Moodini, the Great Escape Bovine!

We think Miriam somehow knew we were coming - what are the odds that a former meat CSA would become a vegan animal sanctuary? In the time we have been here, Miriam has gone from absolutely terrified of humans to eating hay from our hands and happily hanging with her many animal friends, including her new bestie Penelope. While she spent four long, cold winters sleeping in the forest, she now has her very own shelter where she can sleep and get out of the elements if she chooses to. She has learned love and trust in such a short time, and will be forever safe in sanctuary.

Please help support Miriam and all of her friends. She is a survivor - they all are. And we owe it to them to provide the very best care and the most love. They give it back tenfold and are so deserving.
