The positive changes that have occurred at Ozark Akerz Regenerative Farm were impossible for us to imagine 10 years ago. In fact if we had been able to imagine them, we would have considered them utopian, unreachable. They were not. With our help, the farm is transforming into something altogether different from when we moved here. The aromas on the wind are richer, the shadows cast by trees are longer and the accumulation of birdsong and chorus of frogs is a calming symphony instead of an irregularity of a few fixed notes. 

At time of launching this campaign, we have discovered over 800 species at Ozark Akerz Regenerative Farm since we began tracking in 2019. This includes 54 species of birds, 79 species of butterflies and moths, and 182 species of native flowering plants, 28 species of reptiles and amphibians and 45 species of wild growing mushrooms and other fungi. 95% of the fungi are unseen, in the soil beneath our (rarely bare) feet. This living community, a mycelium network in the soil, is the foundation of thriving Mycorrhizal Byways.

We can?t do this alone, it requires collective action with our closest interconnections. These interconnections increase the Mycorrhizal Byways and create a storied and shared culture. This is a culture defined by our profound care for Nature and a deep commitment to bringing the rewards of this care to our broader communities. Nature is deeply embedded in us as a species. That embeddedness is re-emerging along the Mycorrhizal Byways. 

Many of these interconnections are other farms, but there are also organizations whose actions impact the Mycorrhizal Byways positively.
