Nature is political. What does that mean? The most marginalized communities are the communities most impacted by displacement, climate change, extractive industries, habitat degradation, pollution...the list goes on. Who has access to green space, clean water and clean air is not random, it?s political.
The United States has a long and painful history of stealing Indigenous lands and destroying the means but which Indigenous people connect with nature. Help us support programming that empowers Indigenous youth to reconnect with nature and become stewards and ecological leaders on their ancestral homelands.
All programming will be managed by the Natural Law Conservation Corps, created to support models of Indigenous conservation and cultural engagement with America's public and private lands. Additional guiding services will be provided by Rise Outside.
