Hypersomnia Foundation is a nonprofit advocacy organization dedicated to improving the lives of people who have idiopathic hypersomnia (IH) and related hypersomnia sleep disorders, including narcolepsy types 1 and 2 and Kleine-Levin syndrome. We do this by:
- Providing high-quality and timely information that is easy to understand and act on for people across the spectrum of the hypersomnia community?from people first searching for answers and the newly-diagnosed, to those living with these conditions for a longer time, as well as their supporters.
- Supporting all kinds of healthcare professionals in their ability to identify, diagnose, and treat IH and related sleep disorders.
-Helping speed up scientific discovery about IH and related sleep disorders, including causes and better diagnosis and treatments. We support researchers in many ways, such as helping with research study recruitment and running a Research Award Program, which includes a partnership with the AASM Foundation to jointly fund research in hypersomnia sleep disorders.
