K9 Youth Alliance

Founded in 2013, and officially launched in 2016, grassroots non-profit K9 Youth Alliance Positive Youth Development Series brings shelter dogs together with local Los Angeles youth for an intensive, afterschool three-week training period. During that time, the shelter dogs learn valuable skills from their young partners and receive much needed socialization that improves their chances of getting adopted. In turn, the students develop leadership skills like clear communication, empathy, responsibility, public speaking and self reflection, while also learning the value of building a trusting relationship.
