Kids In Nutrition (KIN) is a nationwide student-led movement dedicated to food justice, sustainable systems, and improved health outcomes for youth and families through food literacy and access. Recognizing that lifelong habits develop early in life, KIN equips children with essential knowledge of nutrition and food systems, empowering them to make informed food choices as they grow. Our work centers on marginalized communities, where systemic barriers in education, healthcare, and food access contribute to disproportionate rates of chronic disease. Early food literacy is key to preventing chronic disease, advancing health equity, and cultivating sustainable local food systems.
