Pennsylvania Humanities Council

PA Humanities is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening communities by putting people at the center of the humanities. Serving all Pennsylvanians, PA Humanities supports programs and partnerships that encourage learning, foster dialogue, and promote a deeper understanding of our shared history, culture, and civic life.

Working with libraries, schools, cultural organizations, and community partners, PA Humanities brings humanities experiences to communities across the Commonwealth. Through storytelling, public discussions, and educational initiatives, the organization creates opportunities for individuals to engage with ideas, consider different perspectives, and reflect on the experiences that shape our society.

PA Humanities supports opportunities for people of all ages to explore ideas, share knowledge, and build skills that contribute to personal growth and community well-being.

Through grants, partnerships, and capacity building efforts, PA Humanities also supports organizations and local leaders who are using the humanities to address community challenges and highlight local strengths. This work helps build stronger, more connected communities across Pennsylvania.

PA Humanities envisions a Commonwealth where the humanities are recognized as a vital public resource that brings people together, strengthens civic participation, and supports a more informed and engaged society.
