The Headstrong Project (THP) is a national-facing mental health treatment practice of choice for the nation?s military-connected members and their families impacted by trauma and the challenging reality of suicidality. As one of our nation?s foremost, at-scale community-based efforts aimed at preventing suicide among veterans, THP brings a wealth of experience to the VA?s suicide prevention efforts by offering unequaled access to best-in-class clinicians delivering transformative care through individualized treatment on a confidential, cost-free, bureaucracy-free, and stigma-free basis.
Since 2012, THP has delivered evidence-based mental health care to military-connected individuals grappling with mental health disorders and facing alarming suicide rates. We provide assistance to veterans from all eras, active-duty service members, National Guard and Reserve members, and their connected family members, regardless of discharge status. To date, we have conducted over 134,000 clinical sessions for more than 4,650 military-connected individuals, with over 40,000 of those sessions occurring by the end of 2022.
We are headquartered in New York however we actively operate in 16 core markets including Arizona, California, Colorado, the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Washington State. THP has a robust clinical partner network of almost 300 psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, counselors, psychiatrists, and neurofeedback providers. Additionally, as a result of multistate licensure, services are available in 45 states to accommodate clients who move after starting treatment in one of our 16 core markets.
