A Special Design for 2026 ?
This year?s shirt design carries a few special details that make it unique to 2026.
You may notice a little bird worked into the design?a nod to ?Birdy,? the newest member of the Loggia and Depenbusch families. As you may know, Jean Loggia was the inspiration behind the original event and continues to be a beacon of hope, celebrating 13 years cancer-free. The bird represents new life, hope, and looking toward the future, while also serving as a sweet tribute to the littlest member of the family and another beloved grandchild for Jean.
With a new addition to the family, this year?s event is a little more streamlined, too. There will be no bike ride in 2026, making this year?s shirt unique to this year?s event. That?s why you?ll see: RUN ? WALK ? HOPE
While one part of the event is taking a year off, the heart of the event remains the same: hope for the future and the continued fight to cure pancreatic cancer.
Why are the shirts purple?
Purple is the ribbon color for pancreatic cancer awareness. It was chosen as a tribute to Rose Schneider, the mother of PanCAN founder Pamela Acosta Marquardt. Rose's favorite color was purple, and she passed away after battling pancreatic cancer. Today, purple honors her memory and represents the fight against pancreatic cancer.
