The first Peace Out, Cancer! shirts were created when Harper was just a few months into treatment for leukemia. What started as a way for friends and family to rally around her quickly became something much bigger than we could have ever imagined.
Across five campaigns, more than 1,000 Peace Out, Cancer! shirts and sweatshirts have made their way around the world. Together, they have raised more than $25,000 for cancer research through the V Foundation, helped with Harper?s medical expenses during treatment, and supported Harper?s Home.
But these shirts also helped plant a seed.
As people showed up for Harper again and again, she began thinking about how she could use her own experience to help other families. That desire eventually became Harper?s Home, the nonprofit Harper founded to provide free, private housing for families who must travel to Duke Children?s Hospital for their child?s medical care.
Now, Peace Out, Cancer! is back.
We?re bringing back a favorite color, adding some brand-new options, and offering shirts and sweatshirts for the whole family. Every purchase from this campaign will support Harper?s Home and help us continue providing families with a place to live together, at no cost to them, while their child receives treatment.
We?re launching just in time for Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, and we hope you?ll wear yours proudly this September and beyond.
Peace out, cancer. And #BraveLikeHarper, always.
