Radien is a vivacious, carefree 5-year-old. His happiness is infectious?anyone who meets him can?t help but smile. His contagious personality would make you unaware of everything he has endured.

At just two years old, he was diagnosed with a brain stem tumor?a KIF5B-ALK fusion histiocytic tumor of the central nervous system (CNS). The tumor was causing his body to fail in responding to respiratory signals, essentially telling him not to breathe. This led to the need for a tracheostomy tube. He went into respiratory distress, followed by cardiac arrest. He was immediately placed on VA-ECMO for nine days to allow his body to rest.

After 33 days of hospitalization, he was finally able to transfer to St. Jude to fight cancer! He worked tirelessly to regain his strength?learning to breathe on his own, walk, and eventually talk again. What we expected to take months, he accomplished in just 30 days! His determination and resilience are truly inspiring.

After only six months of chemotherapy, his tumor shrank in size and has remained stable since November 2023! He will continue to undergo routine scans every six months to closely monitor its stability.

We've started this campaign to raise money for St. Jude. Our family plans to attend the 2026 St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend this December! 

From now until December 5th, we'll be raising money for our run through a t-shirt fundraiser.
