Every year Monterey Audubon Society hosts a migratory seabird count at Point Pinos in Pacific Grove. We all know that the coastline of the Monterey Bay is special, but this special point sticks out a little further. On the west coast, this is the only place we can catch the south-bound migration from the shore, and most of species that nest in areas that are difficult for humans to access. Because of our unique geography, we are able to take crucial data on the populations of these species as they migrate past us each winter.
