This fall, I'll be running the New York City Marathon in honor of my dad; this incredible opportunity is made possible by Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss. Imagine offers grief and loss education and training to the community and free year-round grief support groups for children and young adults coping with the loss of a loved one. All of the proceeds raised will have a direct, positive impact on someone's journey through grief.

My dad was an avid movie lover (and an even bigger fan of extra-buttered popcorn); when we were children, he would tuck us in at night and say on the way out of the room, "See you in the movies." His version of "sweet dreams" is something I still hear in my head to this day. This hat is for him: for the life he lived, for the life he made possible for me. I hope everyone that wears it thinks of the people they love the most.
