Terra Eby is a former livestock exhibitor who spent her youth raising and showing livestock through 4-H. She formed some of her most cherished memories and lifelong friendships through her involvement in the livestock industry. The Delaware State Fair was one of the highlights of her showing career and helped shape her passion for agriculture.

In July 2025, Terra and her husband, Daniel, were expecting their second child. At 19 weeks into the pregnancy, they received a phone call requesting a follow-up ultrasound due to concerns about a potential medical diagnosis. During subsequent appointments, doctors attempted to paint a picture of what their son, Knox?s life might look like if he survived. One physician remarked that he ?wouldn?t live the American dream? and ?would never play sports.?

Terra recalls responding, ?That?s okay?he will probably show livestock anyway.?

Confused, scared, but hopeful, Terra and Daniel promised to celebrate Knox?s life throughout the remainder of the pregnancy. On November 10, Knox Daniel Eby was born. Although his time on earth was brief, Terra and Daniel remain forever grateful for the lessons he taught them.

During this difficult journey, they were surrounded by a community that offered unwavering support, compassion, and kindness. It reinforced a belief they often shared: not a lot truly matters in this world, but how you treat people matters.

Wanting to honor Knox?s legacy and give back to the community that carried them through their hardest days, Terra and Daniel established the nonprofit SHOW KIND?Kids Igniting New Dreams.

SHOW KIND?s mission is to help youth ignite new passions through livestock showing. Through scholarships and recognition programs, SHOW KIND seeks to celebrate young people who demonstrate kindness, support others, and create opportunities for fellow exhibitors to dream, grow, and succeed.
