The Earthquake

On August 10, 2026, a powerful 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck Colombia, centered near San Jos? del Palmar and Quibd? in the department of Choc?. The disaster caused widespread devastation?damaging thousands of homes, knocking out critical infrastructure, and severing vital river and road transit routes. In a region already facing deep structural challenges, the impact has left thousands of families displaced and in urgent need of emergency aid and long-term rebuilding support.

The Impacted Communities

This campaign directly supports Indigenous and Afro-Colombian communities throughout Choc?. Choc? is home to rich cultural heritage and critical biodiversity, yet it remains one of the most historically underserved regions in Colombia. Because large-scale institutional aid often concentrates in major urban centers, isolated rural, Afro-descendant, and Indigenous territories are often overlooked. This fund focuses resources precisely where the logistics are the most challenging and the emergency need is greatest.

Fund Allocation

100% of campaign net proceeds from every item purchased will be distributed directly to Galer?a Origenes and Radio Juntanza, two grassroots initiatives and trusted regional community leaders on the ground. Both organizations have been working in these communities, providing healthcare, food, basic supplies, and helping to rebuild homes and community spaces.

The Artist

The artwork for this campaign was created and donated by MasPaz, a Colombian-born multidisciplinary artist and muralist based in Washington, D.C whose mother worked in the Peace Corps in Quibd? in the 1960s. Translating literally to "More Peace", MasPaz blends bold, ancestral lines with contemporary street art, drawing deep inspiration from Indigenous wisdom and environmental stewardship. His art has transformed public spaces worldwide, continually serving as a bridge for community healing, cultural resilience, and social action.
