Iowa continues to face a challenging landscape for abortion access. Abortions are prohibited once cardiac activity is detected, which is often around six weeks of pregnancy, leaving many Iowans with few options close to home and forcing people to travel out of state for care. Additionally, legislators have introduced proposals like House File 2563, which would place new restrictions on mail-order abortion medication and would require providers like the Emma Goldman Clinic to provide clients with false and harmful information about "abortion pill reversal."
