Remembering Kevin

Kevin Michael Ward was born on December 1, 1998. He was a beloved son, brother, and fianc? with a heart of gold.

To his family, Kevin was a protector: someone they could count on, someone who cared deeply, and someone whose presence made them feel less alone.

He loved the outdoors, walks at Cliff Cave Park, Chevy trucks, wrestling, country music, and the Kansas City

Chiefs.

He spent time teaching his younger brothers to ride bikes, skateboard, and fish. Those everydaymoments are part of the love and memories his family will always carry.

How Kevin Lost His Life

On December 24, 2024, Kevin was shot and killed by his father, Harold Luster, at just 26 years old. During a confrontation, his father threatened Kevin?s pregnant fianc?e. Kevin tried to calm the situation and urged her to

get to safety and call the police. While trying to protect her, Kevin lost his life.

His death left a lasting heartbreak in his family and is a painful reminder of the devastating effects of domestic

violence.

The Purpose of Kevin?s Legacy Foundation

Kevin?s Legacy Foundation was started in his honor to help women and children affected by domestic abuse.

Our mission is to carry forward his caring and protective spirit by offering compassion, raising awareness, and working to provide practical support to survivors and families in need.

As we work to establish and register the foundation, our early efforts include raising funds for registration, collecting essentials such as diapers, formula, and children?s clothing, and gathering gift cards and items to

help families during the holidays.
