The purpose of the Fund is to support ceremonial, life events, and social

activities for personnel assigned to Pennsylvania Air National Guard (PAANG), Headquarters, to include their families, by promoting a general sense of camaraderie and positivity. This is accomplished through providing financial support to and/or active involvement in recognition programs and special events, as determined by the Officers and PAANG/CC, or designee. Purchase made through Bonfire will directly support the Fund.

DISCLOSURE: This Fund and the activities and organizations that it funds are not instrumentalities of the United States of America (USA), the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (CWOPA), the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), or the Pennsylvania National Guard (PNG). It is not subject to the privileges and immunities of the USA, CWOPA, DMVA, or PNG.

SIGNIFICANCE: The emblem is symbolic of the unit and its mission as it bears the blue and yellow colors of both the Air Force and the State of Pennsylvania. The red keystone has historical significance dating from Revolutionary War days when Pennsylvania became known as the Keystone State, and is used on the emblem to represent the key position of the State Headquarters unit. The red color (for valor) is representative of other military units throughout the state. The figure of Pegasus, widely used by Pennsylvania Air National Guard units, is symbolic of prowess in air power. His white co?or represents a pure sense of duty. The swept-wing aircraft streaking through the strip of blue sky indicates air power and defense. The motto reflects the State Headquarters' allegiance to both the State of Pennsylvania and the United States and its continuing desire to accomplish its duty for State and Country of furthering the cause of freedom and democracy.
