People often use the term "interpretive dance" to label what I do or assume this is what I do. Honestly, I have been studying dance all my life and I can't remember any of my teachers using the term. Moreover the term has come to be used as a joke and way to mock and dismiss dance in general. So when "People will stop asking you stupid questions if you start responding with interpretive dance." became a popular meme, I felt inspired. Actually what I have learned, am still learning, is to skip answering stupid questions in any form whatsoever. The last thing askers of stupid questions deserve is a free dance. A little dance of their own might do them some good, possibly answer their own question
