Adelaide came into the world on June 6, 2015. She was always happy, singing, and dancing. She always waved to everyone and stopped to say hi to every animal that passed by. She had a love of anything Disney related from movies to shows and even watching the fireworks on T.V. in front of Cinderella?s Castle. She loved baths and swimming and told everyone who would listen that she was a mermaid. She passed away in her sleep two weeks shy of her second birthday. Her death was classified as Sudden Unexplained Death in Children.

Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC) is a category of death in children between the ages of 1 and 18 that remains unexplained after a thorough investigation, including an autopsy. Most often, a seemingly healthy child goes to sleep and never wakes up. At this time, we do not know what causes SUDC, how to predict it or how to prevent it.

This fundraiser supports the SUDC Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3). The SUDC Foundation is the only organization worldwide whose purpose is to promote awareness, advocate for research and support those affected by SUDC. It provides all services at no cost to the people it serves.

Our family has been provided with both support and guidance from the foundation over the last three years. This foundation has also allowed us to be able to make connections with others.
