There is no easy way to say this... Nancy and Karlton (Biggie) Wiley's sweet, silly, smart, and spunky five-year-old son, Kai, was recently diagnosed with cancer. B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, to be exact. Our hearts are aching with the Wiley family as they process this shocking news and navigate the difficult journey ahead.
Kai is currently admitted to Oncology at Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC and has recently started his first round of chemo treatments. Due to COVID restrictions, Nancy and Biggie have to rotate shifts, with only one of them able to be by Kai's side at a time. Nancy's incredible parents, Monique and Jack, have graciously been living in a hotel near the hospital over the last several weeks, helping to care for Kamden and Jade, and providing a place where Nancy and Biggie can return to for rest.
Before Kai's diagnosis, the Wiley family had already spent weeks at the hospital undergoing a myriad of tests, scans, and lab work. The road ahead will continue with lengthy hospital stays, cancer treatment, and more and more tests. As you can imagine, this will not only take a physical and emotional toll, but a significant financial toll as well.
Through this t-shirt fundraiser, we can help relieve some of the financial burden for the Wiley family while also wearing our love and support for Super Kai Guy on our sleeves... literally. :-) Proceeds from each t-shirt purchase will go directly to Nancy and Biggie to help them with Kai's medical costs, unpaid leave, and general support during this time.
Let's all support and encourage Super Kai Guy as he kicks cancer's butt cheeks! Make sure to send a picture of you and/or your family/friends wearing your Super Kai Guy shirts to the Wiley family to bring a smile to their faces. :-)
